About Dr. Yim

A lifelong interest in health and nutrition led Dr. Yim first to massage therapy. He practiced as a massage therapist for seven years. In 1987 he went to Malaspina University-College to get his prerequisites for medical school. From there he attended Bastyr University in Seattle, WA and received his doctorate in naturopathic medicine after four years. After completing the rigorous provincial board exams, Dr. Yim established his clinic, Blue Heron Natural Health Centre, in Nanaimo, B.C.

He has been practicing in Nanaimo since 1994. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Yim promotes natural healthcare through his regular column in the local newspaper, his appearances on television as a guest on channel 12’s New Day and extensive lecturing. He has been a guest lecturer for many local support and service groups. He has been hired to educate the employees of businesses small and large. Also, Dr. Yim gives free monthly Self Care lectures at his clinic.

Dr. Yim has earned a respected name and reputation for helping individuals attain a high level of health through his practice and through his lively and motivational public speaking.
